Cairns is a touristy town located in the far north Queensland. Cairns is the number one front door to the Great Barrier Reef and that is one of the reasons why they receive hundreds of visitors every day.

There are lots of tour operators running day trips to the reef every day. These tour operators have slightly different types of boats and travel to different reef locations. But why not have the ultimate experience and do an overnight tour at the Great Barrier Reef?

There are several options to choose from when it comes to liveaboards. See the options below:

Ocean Quest Liveaboard

Ocean Quest is a 36 metre catamaran that offers luxury stay at the Great Barrier Reef. The boat offers 4 double suites cabins, 18 twin share cabins and 1 quad share cabin, all featuring air conditioning, en-suite and television. The boat has 3 decks with a bar and a restaurant where people can relax after a nice day snorkelling and diving in the reef. The bar is located at the top deck and the restaurant is located at the main deck and features a large dining area that can comfortably fit their 48 customers on board.

Ocean Quest offers daily departure from Cairns providing customers with a flexible itinerary. The boat transfer between Cairns to the liveaboard is done by their day trip boat called Sea Quest.

Ocean Quest has a permit to travel to 17 exclusive moorings on the Outer Great Barrier Reef at Norman, Saxon and Hastings reefs. The captain of the boat checks the condition of the water and chooses the best locations to visit for the day. This way customers are guaranteed the best visibility of the water for its weather conditions.
