Fitzroy Island Activity Pass 2

Fitzroy Island is located only 29 km from Cairns or 45 minutes by boat from the marina. Fitzroy is a tropical island covered in rainforest surrounded by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. The island has a total area of 339 hectares and the highest point is 375 metres above sea level.

Fitzroy Island offers so much to do and explore. Visitors can walk through the rainforest, swim in the calm waters of Welcome Bay, see the fish swarm underneath the jetty or build sandcastles at Nudey Beach. Also there are four hiking tracks established on the island.

This tour package offers a great way for guests to enjoy and explore the Great Barrier Reef. Visitors can learn about the marine life on a guided glass bottom boat tour AND also get up close to this gorgeous marine creatures by snorkelling off the beach. Also included for the day is free usage of the paddle skis, stand up paddle boards, ocean trampoline and a picnic lunch.

Snorkelling around the island is perfect for kids or those ones who are learning how to snorkel. The reef is located just off the beach so the access to the snorkelling locations are easy and close to shore making the whole snorkelling experience very comfortable and pleasant.

At check ins at the Cairns Reef Fleet terminal the boat crew will offer clients a map of the island where it shows all the snorkelling locations and walking tracks. The island will also not disappoint with the wide variety of corals and fish species.

This is a great opportunity to see one of the most beautiful islands in the Far North Queensland.

Please Note:
Beaches: The beaches on Fitzroy Island are not patrolled by surf life savers. Marine stingers are present in tropical waters from November – May and clients will be provided with a stinger suit for use while snorkelling during this period.
Paddle Skis and Stand up Paddle Boards:Please note that the paddle skis and stand up paddle boards are shared between all clients doing the same activity package. The free usage of the equipment is for about 1 hour so all clients can have their turn.

Age: Adult age: 15 yrs + / Child age: 4-14 years inclusive.
Family Price: 2 Adults & 2 Children.
Reef Tax: $5.00 is levied for all adults and children entering the Great Barrier Reef. This charge and other levies are INCLUDED in the cruise fares.

Booking fees: Tourism Cairns do not charge any booking fees.

Deposit and final payment: At Tourism Cairns clients are required to pay a deposit only at the time of booking. Final payment is to be completed 48 hours prior to departure or on the day of travel, depending on each tour operator's policy.

Cancellation by the traveller: If the tour is cancelled by the client up to 7 days prior to departure, a full refund is applicable. If the tour is cancelled by the client 7 days prior to departure, the deposit amount might be retained. If the tour is cancelled by the client 48 hours prior to departure, 100% cancellation fee may apply.

Booking amendments: If the date of a tour needs to be changed, Tourism Cairns must be notified in writing by the client up to 48 hours prior to the tour date.
