Kuranda is the most popular rainforest tour in Cairns, and this is because Kuranda is surrounded by the World Heritage Rainforest and Barron Gorge National Park. The rainforest is about 120 million years old.
Kuranda Village is very little and pretty and it is located 25 km northwest of Cairns or 45 minutes by car. But the best way to get to Kuranda Village is travelling by the skyrail or the train, this way travellers get to see and experience the Kuranda rainforest.
In this package customers travel up to Kuranda Village on the skyrail and return to Cairns on the train, or also could happen in reverse.This is a self drive option so customers have to drive to the Skyrail Station. Coach transfer between the Skyrail Station and Freshwater Train Station is included in this package. This coach transfer is done in the morning or in the afternoon after the tour, depending on what is available at the time of booking.
Kuranda is also famous for its market and wildlife parks located in the village. Everyday visitors can find stalls selling aboriginal arts, souvenirs, local produce and much more.The wildlife parks available in Kuranda are: Butterfly Sanctuary, Birdworld Kuranda, Koala Gardens and The Rainforestation. The Diamond View Gondala provides a glass floor for an extra view of the Rainforest. Visitors will love the experience of looking straight down to the forest below but also enjoy the panoramic view around them. There are 11 Diamond View Gondolas available and each one can carry a maximum of 5 passengers departing 7 minutes apart from each other. It is a great experience.
The upgrade to Diamond View Gondala can only be organised directly with the skyrail station on the day of travel.

The Kuranda Budget tour option is the cheapest way to visit Kuranda without missing out on anything important. Travellers travel up to Kuranda by the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and travels down back to Cairns on the famous Kuranda scenic railway. Only pick up from Cairns accommodations is included in the morning.
At the Kuranda Classic Tour travellers travel up to Kuranda by the Kuranda Scenic Railway and travels down back to Cairns on the famous Skyrail Cableway. Also pick up & drop off from hotels and accommodations are included in the day package.

Visitors travel by the scenic railway and Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and also visit the Rainforestation, which is a 40 hectare park surrounded by beautiful rainforest and tropical gardens with many activities available.
Booking fees: Tourism Cairns do not charge any booking fees.
Deposit and final payment: At Tourism Cairns clients are required to pay a deposit only at the time of booking. Final payment is usually paid directly to the tour operator on the day of travel, depending on each tour operator's policy. Some tour operators request full payment at the time of booking.
Cancellation by the traveller: If the tour is cancelled by the client up to 7 days prior to departure, a full refund is applicable. If the tour is cancelled by the client 7 days prior to departure, the deposit amount might be retained. If the tour is cancelled by the client 48 hours prior to departure, 100% cancellation fee may apply.
Booking amendments: If the date of a tour needs to be changed, Tourism Cairns must be notified in writing by the client up to 48 hours prior to the tour date.
