Kuranda is a beautiful village located in the middle of rainforest in the hills of Cairns. There are different ways to access the village, by road through the Kuranda range but the popular way is to get there by the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway or the Kuranda Scenic Railway.
On the Return Skyrail Rainforest Cableway Tour travellers travel up to Kuranda by the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and travel down back to Cairns again by the Skyrail. The pick and drop off from accommodation can be organised and added into the itinerary. The coach transfer is available from any hotel in the Cairns area, Northern Beaches and also Port Douglas.
Kuranda Village is a great place for shopping with many shops all within short walking distance from the train station and the skyrail station. The Kuranda markets open every day and it is a very famous market between tourists and locals. The market consists of locally made arts, crafts and produce stalls. Kuranda has also several art galleries and a large range of sidewalk restaurants and cafes. Kuranda is also a major centre for opals and didgeridoos.
Some of the attractions in Kuranda include the Bird World Kuranda, the Butterfly Sanctuary and the Koala Gardens.Tickets can be purchased at the park entrance.

Visitors will love the experience to look straight down to the forest below but also enjoy the panoramic view around them. There are 11 Diamond View Gondolas available and each one can carry maximum of 5 passengers departing 7 minutes apart from each other. It is a great experience.

This is the ultimate Skyrail experience! Glide above the oldest rainforest in the world in an open gondala and enjoy the amazing panoramic views around. Along the way travellers will have the company of a guide and ranger who will explain about the diversity of fauna and flora of the famous Kuranda rainforest. The number of passengers allowed in the gondala is 4 people so enjoy the personalised service. The Canopy Glider operates twice a day only. Visitors travel by the scenic railway and Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and also visit the Rainforestation, which is a 40 hectare park surrounded by beautiful rainforest and tropical gardens with many activities available.
Booking fees: Tourism Cairns do not charge any booking fees.
Deposit and final payment: At Tourism Cairns clients are required to pay a deposit only at the time of booking. Final payment is usually paid directly to the tour operator on the day of travel, depending on each tour operator's policy. Some tour operators request full payment at the time of booking.
Cancellation by the traveller: If the tour is cancelled by the client up to 7 days prior to departure, a full refund is applicable. If the tour is cancelled by the client 7 days prior to departure, the deposit amount might be retained. If the tour is cancelled by the client 48 hours prior to departure, 100% cancellation fee may apply.
Booking amendments: If the date of a tour needs to be changed, Tourism Cairns must be notified in writing by the client up to 48 hours prior to the tour date.
