Great Adventures travels daily to the outer reef so visitors can explore the beauty of this underwater world. Passengers spend the day on a spacious reef platform where many activities are available for all guests. This is a great day for everyone.
Great Adventures' modern fast catamaran departs Cairns a bit later than other boats at 10:30am so this is a good option for travellers arriving in Cairns in the morning and wanting to join a reef cruise later on the same day.
Great Adventures spacious floating platform is suitable for all ages, swimmers and non-swimmers as the pontoon offers activities for people who want to get in the water and also for those one who prefer to stay dry.
The pontoon features undercover seating, tables to enjoy a delicious buffet lunch, full bar facilities, sundeck, a swimming enclosure for children, change rooms with freshwater showers and scuba diving facilities with a semi-submerged platform. The main activities included are unlimited snorkelling, underwater observatory, semi-submersible coral viewing and reef education presentation.
Extra activities include:
A scenic helicopter flight is an experience that everyone enjoys. Great Adventures passengers can travel to and from the vessel by an amazing low helicopter flight where they get to see the reef from an unique angle. The reef colours are brighter from the air and there is also a chance to see some beautiful marine creatures such as stingrays, sea turtle, whales etc.
Also for the ultimate reef experience Great Adventures also offers a "Reef and Island day tour" where visitors spend two hours on beautiful Green Island before heading to Great Adventures platform in the outer reef.
