Great Adventures travels daily to a spacious reef platform where passengers can enjoy a nice and comfortable day exploring the Great Barrier Reef. The platform offers a wide range of activities to everyone on board such as snorkelling, underwater observatory, semi-submersible coral viewing and reef education presentation.
The modern and fast catamaran departs Cairns daily at 10:30am so this can be a great option for those ones arriving in Cairns in the morning and want to join a reef cruise on the same day.
This reef tour is suitable for all ages, swimmers and non-swimmers as the pontoon offers activities for passengers who want to get in the water and also for those ones who prefer to stay dry.
The platform offers undercover seating, tables to enjoy a delicious buffet lunch, full bar facilities, sundeck, a swimming enclosure for children and change rooms with freshwater showers and scuba diving facilities with a semi-submerged platform. Also a scenic helicopter flight is available for who want to have a great experience. Passengers can add a one way trip to or from the platform by an amazing low helicopter flight. All Divers: In accordance with the Australian diving law, ALL DIVERS must complete a medical questionnaire on board, before diving.
Flying after Diving: If only one dive is undertaken then a minimum of 12 hours is recommended before flying. If more than one dive is conducted in the day, an interval of 24 hours is recommended. This is not applicable for low helicopter flights over the reef.
Introductory Divers - NOTE: Certain medical conditions may prevent you from diving (e.g. Asthma, Heart Disease), please contact our office. Min. age to dive is 12 years.

Reef Tax: $6.50 is levied for all adults and children entering the Great Barrier Reef. This charge and other levies are INCLUDED in the cruise fares.
The day starts with passengers boarding Great Adventures luxury air-conditioned catamaran at 10:30am and cruising to a floating platform located in the the middle of Norman Reef. The afternoon is filled with many different activities available from the platform and at the end of the day travellers depart the reef in style, by helicopter..
Have a great morning start with a 30 minute balloon ride over the beautiful Atherton Tablelands and then check in at the Reef Terminal and travel to a big pontoon (floating platform) where many water activities will be available.
Passengers do an amazing low scenic flight from Cairns over the reef to the Great Adventures pontoon, enjoy the many activities available from the platform and later in the afternoon re-board the helicopter for another amazing flight over islands and sandy cays before landing in Cairns CBD.
Booking fees: Tourism Cairns do not charge any booking fees.
Deposit and final payment: At Tourism Cairns clients are required to pay a deposit only at the time of booking. Final payment is to be completed 48 hours prior to departure or on the day of travel, depending on each tour operator's policy.
Cancellation by the traveller: If the tour is cancelled by the client up to 7 days prior to departure, a full refund is applicable. If the tour is cancelled by the client 7 days prior to departure, the deposit amount might be retained. If the tour is cancelled by the client 48 hours prior to departure, 100% cancellation fee may apply.
Booking amendments: If the date of a tour needs to be changed, Tourism Cairns must be notified in writing by the client up to 48 hours prior to the tour date.
